Annual Event Announcement

Dear ACM India members,

As we start 2025, the ACM India Council presents the highlights of our activities for the past six months and share our plans for the months ahead. Your enthusiastic participation has helped shape our initiatives and we look forward to your continued engagement this year too.

Below is a summary of the various activities for the past six months, since the new Council took over its responsibilities:

  • ACM India website has a brand new look now, check out the updates here!
  • The Council hosted an industry round table in Hyderabad, well attended by the representatives of the Hitec city. A regional Chapter Summit hosted by the Deccan Chapter was also held in October 2024.
  • ACM India is organizing the India AI Olympiad (INAIO) in partnership with ACM KDD, towards encouraging innovation in artificial intelligence among school students, a brand-new initiative of ACM India for students. The results of Bebras India Computational Thinking Challenge 2024 were announced in the new year. Check out the details here.
  • The ACM India Chapter Summit held in Bengaluru was well attended by hundreds of student chapter representatives and faculty sponsors, with many talks from researchers in India and abroad along with presentations from the award-winning chapters.
  • ACM India awards for the year 2024 have been announced, we look forward to recognizing many more in the future.
  • Compute, CODS-COMAD and SAT conferences were held in partnership with ACM India, spanning research in the areas of Computing Education, Data Science and Data Management and the theory and applications of the satisfiability problem respectively. Another new initiative of ACM India, IndiCS, successfully completed the hosting of its first seminar in the Mysore campus of Infosys.
  • The Winter Schools of ACM India were held in four different locations and again well attended by senior under-graduate and postgraduate students. Six Research Opportunities in Computer Science (ROCS) workshops were held between August and December 2024, special thanks to the hosts and the attendees. Our industry and education webinars continue to happen, please register and participate to augment your knowledge.

Important upcoming events are highlighted below:

  • The ACM India Annual Event 2025 will be held on 1 March 2025 at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. We look forward to your enthusiastic participation in the event which will host talks by Prof Dame Wendy Hall, Prof. Elisa Bertino, Prof. Y. Narahari and Dr. L. Venkata Subramaniam, and the awards ceremony. The Annual event will be preceded by the ARCS Symposium for research scholars and the ACM India-W Summit. We thank the sponsors of these events wholeheartedly.
  • Deadline for the Anveshan Setu fellowships is approaching, please apply soon.
  • PhD Clinic slots are open for registration, research facilitation grant applications are open throughout the year and those who have papers in top tier conferences can apply for the ACM India-IARCS travel grants too. A few more ROCS seminars are scheduled, don't miss the opportunity to attend!
  • ISEC 2025 conference spanning several areas in software innovation is coming up next month at NIT Kurukshetra, call for participation is open. We are all set for PIC 2025, ready to welcome young researchers and laureates to Mysore next month.
